Noemi Fund

Contributions to the Noemí Fund facilitate an ongoing credit fund to support the initial costs of land, housing and irrigation.  Noemí Fund investments in small farming communities allow the villagers to work toward sustainability, reaching a point where they can pay back their loans while supporting their families.  Donations from churches, businesses, foundations and individuals cover the costs of agricultural assistance, health care, education, community development and other programs.

Agros knows of no other organization that provides long-term loans to the rural poor to enable land ownership. As a result of the longer loan term, there is often a gap between the time groups are ready to start a village and the time when there are the available funds to do so. An investment in the Noemí Fund will ensure readily available funds to support these initial costs.

Half of the people in Agros communities are under 13 years of age. As young villagers’ parents achieve ownership of the land on which they work, they create healthy, stable environments that provide their children new socio-economic opportunity. The Noemí Fund will effectively endow the community development of future generations of would-be impoverished people.
