POSITION: Marketing & Communications Manager

The Marketing and Communications Manager contributes to the mission of Agros International by leading marketing strategy, product development, and the organization’s marketing and communications efforts.

The Marketing and Communications Manager develops internal and external communication and marketing campaigns for the organization. This includes media and public relations, support for resource development efforts (including special events), product design and development, and the creation of organizational collateral and promotional materials.

The position develops and oversees organizational messaging and branding and has overall responsibility for the Agros International web site. This role requires 20% strategy and 80% implementation.

Agros exists to bring hope and a bright future to the poor rural families of Central America and Mexico. As you may know, this is achieved through a seven-year walk with those families, a walk that starts with helping them organize and purchase land. The walk continues while we work with them to develop a village complete with sustainable businesses and farms helping them break the cycle of poverty for current and future generations.

Recently, I had the opportunity to get a glimpse of how Agros’ work not also transforms our villagers’ lives, but also our partners’ lives. I attended a meeting in one of our partnering churches who have been helping us support a village in El Salvador.  It was remarkable as various members present began sharing their experiences and thoughts of what the journey with this village has meant for them personally.

One individual spoke of how her young daughter felt safe and at home at the village. Another member spoke of how his relationship with God had been positively influenced thanks to his helping others overcome poverty. A third spoke of how connection with a rural Agros family had helped him walk in the shoes of Jesus.

What a joy to know that our organization facilitates these experiences, both in our villagers and partners.
